This is a "Urantia Book Study Group for New Readers" although some participants are experienced readers. We meet each Monday evening for 90 minutes from 7:30 to 9:00 PM Eastern Standard (and Daylight) Time. This group was organized in the fall of 2021. At that time, at the request of the members, we began a Paper-by-Paper progressive total read-through of the entire text of The Urantia Book, reading and discussing each week as much as we are able to cover with a reasonable amount of discussion since all or most of this material is completely new to the members. We are currently--at the end of June, 2023---in process of completing Paper 52, in Part II. Our plan is to continue with the current Paper-by-Paper reading plan at least until we have completed one entire reading of all four Parts of The Urantia Book, at which time we will discuss among ourselves and decide on our future course of action after that. Study is occasionally supplemented with diagrams, charts, videos, and other study aids all of which are provided through the same means of accessing the study group itself. Readers from any location on the planet are welcome, as are all readers at all levels of familiarity with the text. Currently, though the membership of the group of about a dozen readers are predominantly residents of the United States, we have a member who resides in Canada, two with additional prospective possible readers in Uganda, and an interested reader in Australia who monitors the study aid materials and occasional weekly introductions, I provide as facilitator but who does not actively participate in our weekly online meetings. While our primary focus is on the reading, study, comprehension and discussion of the text of The Urantia Book, our meetings usually close with a final inspirational portion or a prayer led by a group member who is also an ordained Christian minister and published author of several books on topics relating to those of The Urantia Book. (NOTE: While I am the principal facilitator of this study group, during the current period of time---June through August, 2023----I am very much involved in the project of relocating to North Carolina, where I will resume my service as facilitator on an ongoing basis as before. In the interim, the study group is being entirely led and facilitated by my friend and fellow study group member who I mentioned above, as ordained minister and author, who is taking on the joy and fulfillment of providing this service and assuming this responsibility during my temporary absence.)
